Nigeria: We're Not Indebted to EKSU- - MOCPED

THE management of Michael Otedola College of Primary Education(MOCPED), Noforija, Epe, Lagos State, has denied being indebted to the Ekiti State University, EKSU, saying it has remitted its dues to EKSU up to the 2012/13 academic session.

This is following accusations from the management of Ekiti State University of MOCPED's indebtedness and failure to release the results and certificates of its degree students.

MOCPED is an affiliate college of Ekiti State University and students can seek admission into MOCPED for degree programs that would bear EKSU's certificate.

According to the interim report of the students' protest of January 26, 2015, and signed by the Acting Registrar, Mrs' L. A. Jegede, the earlier published article of MOCPED's indebtedness was the handiwork of some overzealous staff of EKSU which was full of lies and was intended to incite the College EKSU students against the College management and the College at large.

She said "the College has remitted its dues to EKSU up to 2012/13 academic session and the remaining dues for 2013/14 session were to be remitted after the students might have paid their tuition fees for the current session.

"Evidences to prove that MOCPED isn't defaulting are presented copy of update on sandwich and full-time degree students' results; decision extract of the last meeting of the degree students' representatives with the College management; EKSU Senate approved graduating result list for MOCPED part-time student; list of students who had collected notification of result; and photocopy of a degree student's notification of result."
